Under his leadership, Exergie has delivered over 3,650 MWh of clean electricity, offset 1,460 metric tons of carbon, and powered more than 40 rural communities with sustainable solutions. His efforts have earned Exergie the prestigious Orange Corners Prize Fund for Innovation from the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the 2024 British Award for Business and Innovation from the British Council.

As the visionary behind Exergie Industries and Qard, a fintech platform transforming global payment systems, Chidumaga combines expertise in design thinking, business intelligence, and team building to create impactful ecosystems driving the future of energy, finance, and design.

Gurnam is a seasoned business leader with expertise in strategic growth, innovation, and global partnerships. With an academic foundation in Business Studies, Business Growth, and Leadership from Aston and Brunel Universities, she also serves as Innovation & Entrepreneurship Director at Brunel.

Since becoming Board Chairperson at Exergie Group in August 2020, Gurnam has led its expansion into Sierra Leone, driven sustainable growth, and forged multinational technological (OEM) partnerships. With a proven track record on projects exceeding £130 million, her strategic vision and leadership continue to position Exergie as a global clean energy leader.

Olumide holds a Master’s in Information Systems from the University of Surrey and brings over a decade of experience helping early and growth-stage startups scale in competitive markets. He specializes in driving the growth of product-led companies, with a focus on UX and product strategies across the EMEA region. Additionally, he serves as a mentor in leading accelerators such as Orange Corners and Techstars.

Since joining Exergie Group’s board, Olumide has been pivotal in securing the company’s first seed funding and overseeing its scaling strategies. His expertise in innovation and product development continues to position Exergie for sustainable growth and market leadership.

Dr. Monomita Nandy is a Professor of Accounting and Finance at Brunel Business School and Vice Dean International (CBASS), holds dual PhDs from the University of Calcutta and the University of Rome Torvergata. A globally renowned academic, she is celebrated for her interdisciplinary research on digitalisation and sustainability, with publications in top journals like IJFE and BSE. Dr. Nandy serves as an associate editor, chairs the South-East British Accounting and Finance Association, and advises companies like Qi Digital (UK) and Exergie (Nigeria). At Exergie, she has revolutionized payment systems and leads R&D on cross-border client payment solutions.

Dr. Nonye Egekwu is a member of the International Society for Quality in Healthcare and holds a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, as well as an MSc in Global Health and Development from University College London. She has extensive experience supporting governments to make evidence-based decisions in healthcare and a proven track record of leading impactful initiatives to improve population health outcomes.

Since joining Exergie’s board, Dr. Egekwu has transformed our CSR approach, aligning it with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and net-zero carbon emissions targets. She has ensured that our life cycle assessments and operations are fully renewable-focused, setting us on track to achieve complete renewable energy operations by 2030.

Dr. Zahir Dehouche holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, France, and an MSc from the Laboratoire de Chimie Physique Appliquée & Environnement, INSA de Lyon. A renowned expert in renewable energy and aerospace R&D, he has authored over 85 scientific articles and serves as a board member for the Journal of Recent Patents on Nanotechnology.

Dr. Dehouche provides strategic oversight in technological partnerships advisory, directing our ongoing R&D initiatives in electrolysis and sustainable energy technologies, while shaping our OEM ecosystem with products tailored specifically for the sub-Saharan African market.
